The Filmmaker

Morgan Ghan · Writer and filmmaker

From imagining
worlds to
building them.

Morgan Ghan is a screenwriter, Unreal Engine artist, 3D generalist, and filmmaker with experience across feature film, animation, and real-time production.

Black Point grew out of a lifelong fascination with adventure filmmaking. Inspired by the storytelling of Akira Kurosawa, George Lucas, and Steven Spielberg, and the cinematography of Greig Fraser, Vittorio Storaro, Emmanuel “Chivo” Lubezki, and Roger Deakins, Morgan developed that passion into an original feature screenplay.

A lifelong artist with a love of painting and sculpture, Morgan has worked in film production in one role or another since the early 1990s—from general crew work to boom operator, sound recordist, camera assistant, cinematographer, and director. His experience spans Monsters at Work, serving as Unreal Engine Technical Director at Walt Disney Studios, and environment and previs work through Rodeo FX on Amazon Studios’ Red One.

The origin

A story years
in the making.

Childhood encounters with Jaws, King Kong, and Star Wars sparked two enduring passions: film and art. Black Point is an original expression of those passions, shaped by years of writing and visual exploration.
